Late returns policy

Hosts set pickup and return windows for their listings. Renters book scheduled appointment slots within those windows. You must return the item by the end of your scheduled return appointment; late fees are based on the return appointment end time (or by 6pm on the return date if no slot was chosen). A 15-minute grace period applies after the slot end before late fees apply. Late returns disrupt other renters and hosts' schedules.

Late fee tiers

After the grace period, the following late fees apply (based on your return appointment end time):

  • 6:01–7:00 PM (same day): +$15.00 flat fee
  • 7:01–11:59 PM (same day): +$15.00 plus 50% of one overnight rate
  • After midnight: the above plus 1 additional overnight rate per calendar day late

These fees may be charged via the platform in accordance with our Payments & deposits policy.

Communicate with your host as soon as you know you might be late. Repeated or serious late returns may result in account restrictions.
