How to list items and manage rentals on Rentlio.
Listing defaults
In List → Listing defaults, you can set default values for minimum and maximum overnights, advance notice (hours), max days in advance, and pickup and return (drop-off) windows. When you add a new item (Items → Add item), the form is pre-filled with these defaults. You can override any value on that form or later when editing the item—each listing keeps its own settings.
Creating a listing
Add clear photos and a description, set your pricing category and condition, and set pickup and return windows (the time ranges when renters can schedule appointments). Under "Rental rules" you can set a minimum and maximum number of overnights, how far in advance renters must book, and how many days ahead they can book. Optionally add blackout dates. The platform suggests overnight rates based on your item's value and category; you can override them within the allowed range. Weekend pricing applies to Friday and Saturday overnights; those use a higher rate by default.
Per-item rental rules
When adding or editing an item (List → Items → Edit), the "Rental rules" section lets you set minimum overnights (e.g. 2 = at least 2 nights), maximum overnights (optional), advance notice (pickup must be at least X hours from now), and max days in advance. Renters see these on the listing and cannot submit a request that violates them. Use these to match your availability and preferences per item.
Managing requests
Renters book scheduled appointment slots within your pickup and return windows. When a renter requests a booking, you can confirm or decline. Once confirmed, pickup and return happen at the scheduled slot times. You can update booking status (e.g. Picked up, Returned) from your dashboard. Deposits and payments are handled according to our Payments & deposits policy.
Cancellations and late returns
If a renter cancels or returns an item late, our Cancellation policy and Late returns policy apply. Make sure your listing and messages set clear expectations.
